When the popularity of something falls, it comes to an end. It is likely in the field of technology. When an app losing its users; the company has to shut it down, as the company cannot sustain with losing customers. Recently Google has ended some of its apps, those once ruled our lives.

1. Email:Google has announced that it is shutting down its email app Inbox. The app was launched in the year 2014. This app from Google will shut down by March 2019. The company has introduced the app as an experiment. Later Gmail was launched with new features and Gmail is being used widely. However, the reason why Google is shutting down this app is not yet revealed.

2. Google URL Shortener:Google URL shortener has been an important and fun tool. The app was launched in the year 2009. Google has announced to shut it down. The company has also suggested its users to consider using app-centric Firebase Dynamic Links (FDL) or similar popular services like Bitly and Ow.ly as an alternative.

3. Google Spaces:Google also killed its group messaging app called Google Spaces. The app was launched in 2016. Google spaces couldn’t get popularity.

4. Google Blob Emoji:Google announced to shut down of the famous Blob emoji. The company bid farewell to its classic blob emoji on the World Emoji Day. The company posted the information on its official Blogspot, “Breaking up is hard to do, but we’ll find love in a blobless place.” Now round-shaped emojis are found in place of Blob emoji. The new emoji has a flattering look and more apparent use of gradient colors.

5. Google Plus:Google announced that it is killing its social media platform Google Plus. The company announced it in October. As it is alleged that, personal data of around 5,00,000 Google Plus users have been exposed. Keeping in view the security breach, the company has decided to close this app. Google is not going to kill the Google+ in next 90 days.

6. Google Allo: Google has also announced that it will shut down its instant messaging app Allo. The app was launched in 2016. The app will completely stop working by March next year. The company also said that it is working on improving the SMS functionality.

7. Youtube Games: YouTube Gaming app was introduced in the year 2015 and this year, the company announced that it will shut down the app by March 2019.

8. Chrome Web Store: Google also announced that it will kill the app section of the Chrome web store for Windows, Mac, and Linux versions of Chrome (but not ChromeOS). And the option is already removed in the first quarter of 2018. Google has informed Chrome app developers that the previously installed apps will work in the same way.

9. Yahoo: Yahoo Messenger has also shut down this year on July 17. The app was launched twenty years ago in 1998. The messenger was the earliest world wide web experience for the 90s kids. Yahoo couldn’t compete with the new messaging apps like Whatsapp, Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram Direct.
